Born in Temple, Texas in 1970, I enlisted as a Private First Class during Operation Desert Shield in 1990. I served as a Sapper while assigned to the 20th Engineer Brigade (Combat)(Airborne) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and the 6th Engineer Battalion (Airborne) at Fort Richardson, Alaska.
In 1994, while serving as a Sergeant assigned to the 6th Engineer Company, I received a Green to Gold scholarship and was released from active duty to attend Arizona State University where I graduated with honors and a BA in French. I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps as a Distinguished Military Graduate. After an initial assignment as a Gold Bar Recruiter, I served as the direct support platoon leader to the Southern European Task Force for the 13th MP Company in Vicenza, Italy. During the Kosovo Air Campaign I was dual-hatted as a platoon leader and as an operations officer for the 22d Area Support Group where I was placed in charge of the installation's antiterrorism and force protection programs.
In May 1999, I was reassigned to the to the 80th Area Support Group in Chievres, Belgium where I served as the Deputy Provost Marshal and later as the Provost Marshal. As the PM, I developed and monitored plans, training, operations, and security in support of five U.S. Embassies, the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, the U.S. Delegation to NATO, Allied Forces Northern Europe, the Combat Equipment Group-Europe, and the ports in Bremerhaven and Antwerp.
Following the Captain’s Career Course, I was assigned as the Chief of Police Intelligence Operations for the 8th MP Brigade in Seoul, South Korea. In Korea, I coordinated the collection and dissemination of security and threat information between U.S. and Korean military, government, and civilian agencies. In December 2003, following an 11-month break in service, I volunteered as to serve with the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command as the command's Physical Security Officer. In support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, I served in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq under both Combined Forces Land Component Command and CJTF-7. Upon returning to the U.S., I served as SDDC's Physical Security Officer and was in charge of port security assessments along the Gulf and East coasts.


Following a tour at Fort Bliss, TX, I returned for a second tour in Southwest Asia and served as the operations officer for Army Central Command at Camp As Sayliah, Qatar where I coordinated security for visiting heads of state, dignitaries, MWR tours, and the Doha Asian Games. Following Qatar, I served as the Chief of Force Protection for the 377th Theater Sustainment Command in New Orleans, Louisiana. I am currently deployed as a Police Advisor for a division transition team in Kirkuk, Iraq.
I am the proud father of three wonderful children: Sebastian, Alexander, and Melissa. I am the CEO and President of Gatekeeper Consulting, LLC and the founder of Monday Morning Ministries, a non-profit company established to assist Service Members and their families to receive counseling services and mental help.
